QuestaWeb, Inc. (www.questaweb.com), a premier provider of Web-based integrated global trade and logistics management solutions, recently announced a unique, informal arrangement with its customer World Commerce Services, LLC, an international transportation service provider headquartered in Chicago. On a request basis, the firm is allowing QuestaWeb business prospects inside the company to observe the TradeMasterQW system in operation. In so doing, companies gain the opportunity to observe real-life transactions in a business setting similar to their own. Visiting executives also have the opportunity to pose system-specific questions to individuals familiar with the same industry dynamics.
The firm has been using QuestaWeb’s software since April 2006 to handle its complex brokerage operations. World Commerce Services President & CEO Remo Picchietti shared, “With TradeMasterQW we have been able to grow our business at a rate of 20% per year without hiring any additional staff. This kind of return gives World Commerce Services the competitive edge it needs to be successful.” According to Picchietti, “Our motives are not entirely altruistic, however. Helping our software partner sign new companies benefits us by association. A growing QuestaWeb customer base translates to more resources and greater motivation to make an already excellent software even better.”
Leon Turetsky, QuestaWeb’s CEO, said, “When I approached World Commerce Services with this business proposition, I was impressed by Remo’s vision and receptivity to the idea. Most companies would refrain from allowing firms engaged in similar operations from watching actual business processes. Yet, Remo immediately recognized that this short-term investment of his corporate resources would yield long-term benefits to his firm as well.”
World Commerce Services exercises control over the prospects given such unprecedented access to its operations. The firm also requires visiting companies to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
QuestaWeb’s software is written in C# and .NET and is compatible with both SQL and Oracle database systems. TradeMasterQW is installed behind companies’ firewalls, providing the ultimate in security. The QW Integration and Communication Module enables customers to perform backend integrations in house, which can reduce implementation costs substantially.
