QuestaWeb’s AMS solution is to be adopted by world’s NVOCC’s
MARCH 28, 2003
Translate
The solution developed by QuestaWeb, Inc. recently has acquired certification from the U.S. Customs Authorities, and shipping companies and freighting companies owning no vessels (NVOCC) are adopting this Solution.
QuestaWeb’s Solution is the AMS (Automated Manifest Support) software, which the U.S. government has started to implement since February.
Called 'AMS (QW)', this software is a cargo stock and release system linked to the U.S. Customs automatic system. It enables the containers at foreign ports to be automatically reported to the U.S. Customs before the load items are shipped. Characteristics of this automatic report system is that it will automatically conform to the requirements the foreign governments are to implement as well as the U.S. government requirements.
According to the company’s interested person, "with the certification of the software from the U.S. Customs, companies using this software will be able to minimize risk factors arising with shipping business as well as reducing the report processing time." The company is expecting that the usage of the software will expand to forwarders, importers, and other businesses as well as customs clearance brokers.
