Intrastat is the name given to the method of collecting
information and producing statistics on the movement of goods between Member States
of the European Union (EU).
This data is used by a wide range of government and international organisations and
is particularly useful in helping businesses gauge import penetration and establish
new markets for their goods.
The flowchart below explains how Intrastat works.
