The Mod Act enhances the Customs clearance process by allowing indeterminable
information to be identified and provided to Customs at a future time. The
Customs law mandates the use of one of two methods for post-entry summary
adjustments. Either each import shipment must be separately appraised
and adjustments applied to individual entries, or reconciliation entries must be
transmitted to Customs via ABI. U.S. Customs allows filing NAFTA, 9802, Value
and Classification changes to import entries electronically.
Component’s functionality includes flagging of entries, acceptance of ITRAC / FOIA data, C09 calculations,
data transmission, and recording statuses.
