The integrated freight booking process
consists of two major steps:
|
|
|
|
|
a) Booking with an agent. The shipper (exporter) initiates
the process by informing export freight forwarder (cargo consolidator) about
a proposed shipment including shipment instructions and goods characteristics.
Upon acceptance of the quote calculated by the freight forwarder, the shipper
delivers cargo to agent's warehouse or loads received containers. Based on the
quote, TradeMaster QW automatically generates a house bill of lading.
b) Booking with a carrier. Most often, this part of the process is initiated by
an export freight forwarder but it can be initiated by an import freight
forwarder (deconsolidator) as well. Booking with carriers is performed
electronically over integrated API links or manually (by email, fax, or hone).

All booking information flows into other TradeMaster QW components
such as AMS QW,
AES QW, Event Manager,
Export FF QW,
Import FF QW, and Global Trade Visibility.
