Training

Effective user training improves overall user confidence and productivity, facilitates acceptance of the changes taking place, reduces requests for service, and enhances the QuestaWeb’s image within the organization. To realize these benefits, training must be an ongoing process. Users first need to learn the new system, then, they need up-dates, refresher courses, and new tips to continue making the most efficient and effective use of their software solutions.

The training of the user community falls into two distinct levels, the power users and the end users.
Power Users

TradeMasterQW solutions contain multiple configurable features (i.e., screens, fields, workflow, and business rules may be changed or customized), thus providing a considerable amount of flexibility. The higher-level of training is required in order to gain sufficient expertise and to take advantage of this attribute. The users who receive such in-depth understanding of the system will be company’s power users.

The responsibilities of the power users are training of the end users and resolving issues that may arise as part of the normal day-to-day operation acting as the first line of support. In many cases, they may already be involved with the implementation through such activities as user acceptance testing.

The power user must understand application procedures, as well as technical and integration elements so that they are best placed to liaise and resolve issues in other departments that have affected their own department's work.

End Users

The end users, trained after the system is implemented and ready to go live, receive only a fraction of the training the power users receive, since their use of the system is limited to functions specific to their jobs. This training is best provided in-house where operators have access to their own data.

Prerequisite skills for the end users:
  • Company mandated level of applications expertise;
  • Basic browser interfaces, such as Internet Explorer, including actions such as entering URLs, submitting data and following links;
  • Basic Windows Explorer functions, including navigation through the file system and moving documents within the file system via Windows Explorer.
